Serra do Roncador is a region located in the most central point of Brazil, in the state of Mato Grosso, more specifically between the Rio das Mortes and the Araguaia river to the east, and the Xingu and Kuluene rivers to the west, reaching up to 700 meters of altitude in some points.

Characteristics
The Serra do Roncador region is, to this day, the most unknown in the South American jungle. An immense mountain range from the Plutonic era that rises as a watershed between the Araguaia and the Xingu. It extends for approximately 800 km, from Vale Dos Sonhos, in Mato Grosso, to the vicinity of Serra do Cachimbo, in the state of Pará. The name "roncador" comes from the fact that the wind passes through the rocky walls during the night, producing a low sound that resembles the snoring of a sleeping person.
